Longing Has Teeth
An exhibition by Cvettelia Koutin
October 6–18, 2025
“Longing Has Teeth” is an encounter with that hunger for love and recognition. A hunger that cuts deep — into the body, into thought, into the very fabric of being. In our drive to be loved, we sacrifice our own flesh and identity, becoming shadows marked by scars, reflections forever left unfinished.
Here, beauty becomes ritual, and pain — devotion. Devotion to absence, to emptiness, to impossible consolation. Each painting is a torn prayer cast toward an absent god — a prayer without words, without any hope of an answer. They are signs from the dark, fragments of the unsaid, proof of a longing that does not comfort, but corrodes.
“Longing Has Teeth” is not a promise of solace. It is a dismemberment — of body, of illusions, of hopes. The exhibition invites us into desire’s nightmare itself — and dares us to sink into it.
An artist and psychology student, Cvettelia Koutin uses art as a way of probing the depths of the human psyche. In her practice, she turns toward hidden pain and reshapes it into images of beauty and suffering. Her works explore longing, emptiness, and the contradiction between desire and collapse.
Opening: October 6, 6:30–8:30 pm
