Cryptid Art Space presents

“Like in a Dream”
An exhibition by Nadezhda Kostova

October 5–17, 2026

At the heart of the exhibition lies a personal experience, transformed into a visual image of an in-between state. It builds an inner world set in that hazy space between dream and reality — the moment you wake up, but are still not quite sure whether you are truly awake.

In this world, the familiar and the invented exist at the same time. The figures have no faces and belong to no specific people — they are presences, apparitions, images we might encounter in a dream. Each work is a separate fragment of this space and carries its own experience, without becoming part of a linear narrative.

The nightmare is present not necessarily as fear or an image, but as doubt. As the possibility that the border could disappear, and that what was experienced in sleep could become indistinguishable from what was lived in waking life.

Through the individual fragments runs a red thread — the connection between them and, at the same time, a guidepost for finding the way back to reality.

But somewhere inside, one question remains:

Is any of this real?

Nadezhda Kostova works in the field of visual arts and experimental forms of expression. Her practice moves between collage, typography, and sound, bringing together analogue and digital processes.

In her work, she explores inner states, dreams, vulnerability, and the border between the beautiful and the unsettling. She approaches the image as a space for personal experience and emotional recognition, where fragments of everyday life, textures, symbols, and private associations create a feeling rather than a straightforward narrative.

Opening: October 5, 6:30–8:30 pm
