The Art of Denumbra: Macabre Squared
4–16 May 2026
“Macabre Squared” reveals the synergy between image and sound. The dark aesthetic of the image and the music’s aggression exist as a single whole. Horror to the second power.
An album cover, with its square format, becomes a canvas for worlds of decay, chaos, and darkness, where the line between the organic and the abstract blurs. All this — with one mission: to give visual form to the musical work.
Deso, the man behind “Denumbra”, has been creating digital covers for metal albums for the past 15 years. He has worked with bands and artists from Bulgaria, the US, England, France, Turkey, Romania, Italy, Austria, the Czech Republic, South Korea, Indonesia, Mexico, Chile, Israel, Australia, Canada, Belgium, Finland, Russia, and Nepal.
“Macabre Squared” presents ten visual horrors, gathered into squares — ten album covers from the Brutal Death Metal and Slamming Death Metal scene.
Horror squared — in a square.
